HHCR helped create our new community art gallery. Executive Director Beatrice Sharkey helped develop the model, identified partners, and a location. HHCR successfully applied for a $132K OTF Capital grant to renovate a derelict space in the downtown core to house the gallery.

Beatrice provided expertise in grant writing, governance, volunteer management, event planning and dispute resolution.

For its second year of operation, HHCR helped to secure a $74,645 OTF Seed grant . The gallery is an established brand and a place for artists to show their work, with artist in residence, emerging artist studios and mentoring, a full program of events and a rehearsal and recording space for young musicians. We could never have achieved this without Beatrice and the HHCR board, and our relationship with them and key community partners is stronger than ever.
